Gravity's effect on time tested at Tokyo Skytree
Scientists in Japan have begun an experiment at a landmark tower in Tokyo to test Albert Einstein's theory that time passes more quickly at higher altitudes.
A team led by University of Tokyo Professor Hidetoshi Katori placed ultra-precise clocks on the ground level and the 450-meter-high observation deck of Tokyo Skytree between Tuesday night and Wednesday morning.
The so-called optical lattice clocks use atom oscillations to keep time. They're accurate enough to lose or gain just one second in 16 billion years.

まず、LDOCEで引いてみると、“oscillations are frequent changes between two extreme amounts or limits” や、“a regular movement of something from side to side” とありました。
: from Latin oscillat- ‘swung’, from the verb oscillare.” (Otoyo)
