今回気になったのは、incense /ínsens/ です。以下で意味等を確認していきます。LDOCEで引いてみると、“a substance that has a pleasant smell when you burn it” とあり、『ジーニアス英和大辞典』には、「（宗教的儀式で用いる）香、芳香」と載っていました。また、in- (〜に)+-cense (火をつける)から成り立っており、ラテン語で「燃えているもの」という意味から来ていることも分かりました。（Otoyo）
