　co-ed (coed)を取り上げます。『ジーニアス英和辞典』（第五版，大修館）を引いたところ、 名詞で「（男女共学の）女子学生，（特に）女子大生」、「男女共学の学校」、形容詞で「共学制の；男女一緒に利用できる」などと載っておりました。Oxford Dictionary of English (2th) には、“(of an institution or system) co-educational”と定義されております。記事内では、「混浴」という意味で用いられていると思われます。
　英英辞典の定義から分かるように、coeducationの頭の部分であることが分かります。coeducationが「男女共学」という意味を持つのに対し、co-edは「女子」を指すところが面白いなと感じました。またcoは、UG先生がよく教えてくださるように、「共同」という意味を持ちます。(Gomez)
