今回取り上げるのは、swerve /swˈɚːv/ です。以下で意味等を確認していきます。
まず、LDOCEで調べてみると、“to make a sudden sideways movement while moving forwards, usually in order to avoid hitting something” とあり、『ウィズダム英和辞典』には、「〈車・人などが〉急にそれる[曲がる]」と載っていました。
