More of Fukushima’s Joban Line reopens
Commercial train services resumed Saturday on a JR Joban Line section in Fukushima Prefecture, six years after the prefecture was hit by the nuclear accident at Tokyo Electric Power Company Holdings Inc.’s Fukushima No. 1 plant.
East Japan Railway Co., or JR East, restarted the services on the 8.9-kilometer section between Odaka Station in the city of Minamisoma and Namie Station, in the wake the government lifting its evacuation order on Friday for the town of Namie, excluding the no-go zone where radiation levels are still high.
At a ceremony held at Namie Station, Mayor Tamotsu Baba said that the commercial train service resumption, which followed test operations since March 7, will be a “major driving force for the reconstruction” of his town.

気になった表現は “no-go zone” です。goに否定のnoがついていますので、goしてはいけない区域と考えると、立入り禁止区域を表しているのだろうと思いました。手持ちの紙辞書では見つかりませんでしたが、電子辞書内蔵の『ジーニアス英和辞典』（第4版 大修館書店）には “no-go” で「1（略式）正しく機能していない、出発の用意ができていない、許可されていない 2立入り禁止の」とありました。さらに “no-go area” では「（主に英略式）（反対派の）立入り禁止区域、議論してはいけない話題、無法地帯」という意味になることがわかりました。
LDOCEには“no-go area”で “an area that people should not go to because it is very dangerous” や “a subject that cannot be discussed because it is private or because it may offend people” と定義されており、議論してはいけない理由として個人的なことであるからや、人の気分を害するからということがあるようです。
日本語版の記事を見てみると、富岡町では帰宅困難区域を除いて避難指示が解除されたとのことで、“no-go zone” は帰宅困難区域をさしていると思われます。（aqua）
