　“burner phone”を取り上げます。“burner”というと，「バーナー」や「火口」などの意味がありますが，“phone”と共起することでどのような意味になるのでしょうか。信ぴょう性の辞書には載っていませんでしたが，Urban Dictionaryによると，“A prepaid cellular phone, replaced frequently (weekly) (monthly) to avoid leaving a trail and getting caught up in illegal activities.”と記載されていました。さらに，Pure Talk USAというサイトには，“a burner phone is a prepaid device”とあり，二つのサイトから，「プリペイド携帯」ということが分かります。

　ここで使われている“burner”ですが，Merriam-Websterには，“'Burner' refers to something disposable, or that cannot be traced.”とありました。「使い捨てのもの」や「追跡できないもの」といった語義で用いられています。(Nao)
