Everybody panic: Harry Styles cut his trademark long locks

Are you OK? Are you ready? Because here goes...
Harry Styles doesn't look like this anymore.
The One Direction singer and bearer of the most-watched long hair for a dude not on Game of Thrones, has taken a dramatic step, and chopped off his long, flowing locks. We are very serious about this. Here's the proof.
The good news? Styles captioned the photo "#littleprincesstrust" which is a charity in the UK that, according to its website, "provides wigs and hair pieces for children who suffer hair loss due to cancer treatment," (much like the USA-based Locks of Love). Which is pretty awesome.
The bad news? WE DON'T HAVE A PIC OF HIS NEW HAIRCUT. And so in the meantime, all we can do is imagine what he might look like now. Does he have a buzzcut? A mohawk? A fade? A crew cut? Did he buzz "1D FOREVER" into the back of his head?
We can only dream. Until he posts on Instagram again.
Anyways until then we'll follow the example of this 1D fan.

『ジーニアス英和辞典』（第五版、大修館書店）で確認すると、「（米）モヒカン刈り」と記載されております。イギリス英語では日本語と同じでMohicanというそうです。
「モヒカン刈り」以外に「モーホーク族」と載っているので調べてみると、北アメリカの先住民族で独特な髪形をしていることがわかりました。モヒカン刈りの由来はここからきているようです。現在はニューヨーク州やカナダのケベック州などに定住し、建設工場で働いていることが多いそうです。
髪形の由来ひとつから歴史を学べて面白いと思いました。ハリー・スタイルズも果たしてどんな髪形になったのか楽しみです。(flyingbird)
