今回採り上げるのはLos Angels Timesにあったartをめぐる記事の見出しです。記事で筆者は，「芸術」の価値を専門家やメディアなどのauthorityが決め，芸術自体あるいはそれを味わう鑑賞者ではない傾向にあることを指摘しています。
見出しのI yam what I yamはPopeyeのセリフでお馴染みの表現。amがyamになっているのはPopeyeの話す英語が訛っているためです（I am what I am. 私は私。これが私なの。『カラーアンカー英語大辞典』学研）。ここでは芸術作品として適当か議論の対象になっている漫画Popeyeの像（しかも未完成）とかけ，「芸術作品の価値はひとそれぞれ」という意味が含まれています。（Koyamamoto）
