こういった賞は、個人的に大好きです。見出しは、わざわざthouが使われています。何か匂います。

Our Babbage awards therefore recognise that fun, and funny, side of science and technology (here is last year's shortlist; it does not include our April fools jape, describing a method to 3D-print pets, which was taken at face value by at least one newspaper). The candidates in two categories, for the most bizarre bit of boffinry and the wackiest widget, look most unlikely to alter the course of human progress. But who knows.
Wackier than thou - Babbage awards

見出しのwackier than thouは、もちろん旧約聖書『イザヤ書』65章からの引用です。次に引用元を示します（thouの訳についてですが、通常17世紀の戯曲や書物などでは「親しい仲で使われる二人称の呼びかけ」、もしくは「身分が上の者が身分の低い者へ呼びかけ」る時に使うので、ここではthouを「お前」と訳しました。また使用したのはKing James Versionです）。

Which say, Stand by thyself, come not near to me; for I am holier than thou. These are a smoke in my nose, a fire that burneth all the day. (Isaiah, 65: 5)
[私は]「お前はそこに立ち、わたしに近づいてはいけないのだ。わたしはそこの誰よりも清いのだから」と言う。それは鼻に燻ぶる煙、火はいく日も燃えている。（イザヤ書、65章５節、訳筆者）

見ての通り赤字のholier than thouが引用元です。ちなみに『リーダーズ英和辞典』ですとholier-than-thouで「いやに聖人ぶった、偉そうな顔をした」とあります。本文に戻ると見出しではwackier than thouなので「誰よりも風変わり」という意味になりますね。

また、去年は、King James Versionを読破する、という目標を達成できませんでした。今年の抱負という訳ではありませんが、今年こそは最後まで読もうと思います。(Othello)
