また, willy-nillyという表現が気になったので調べてみました。早速『ジーニアス英和辞典』（第4版, 大修館書店）を引いてみると, willy-nillyで「否応なしに」「無計画に,手当たり次第に」「なかなか決心のつかない」という意味があることがわかりました。nillには「好まない」という意味があり(英辞郎on the WEB) , 古語の「will he nill he」（否でも応でも）という言い回しから転じてwilly-nillyになったそうです。また,この表現は有名な「Winnie the Pooh（くまのプーさん）」の歌詞の中にもあり,Willy nilly silly ol bear とありました。
一見プーさんをばかにしているような歌詞ですが, この場合おっちょこちょいで天然なかわいいくまさんという意味になるのでしょうね。
