US President Donald Trump has issued a blunt warning to North Korea's leader Kim Jong-un in an address to South Korea's parliament.
"Do not underestimate us. Do not try us," he said, while also condemning the "dark fantasy" of life in the North.
He addressed Mr Kim saying "the weapons you are acquiring are not making you safer", and urged other nations to join forces to stop Pyongyang.
The US leader is in South Korea as part of a five-nation tour of Asia.

まず意味を確認します。『ジーニアス英和大辞典』(大修館)をみると、「(1)弾道、軌道<特に重力の作用で弾道・ロケット・惑星などの描く軌跡>; 経路、道筋、(2)[数学・幾何]軌道 」とあります。
次に語源を確認します。Oxford Dictionary of English (2nd Edition Revised)をみると、“late 17th cent. : from modern Latin trajectoria (feminine), from Latin traject- ‘thrown across’, from the verb traicere, from trans- ‘across’ + jacere ‘to throw’ ”とあります。
最後にこの語に意味が近い orbit との比較をします。LDOCEでみると、trajectory は “(1)the curved path of an object that has been fired or thrown through the air (2)the events that happen during a period of time, which often lead to a particular aim or result” とあり、orbit は “to travel in a curved path around a much larger object such as the Earth, The sun etc” とありました。ここから判断すると、orbit の方が天文学的なイメージが強いと言えそうです。(OkaUchi)

chewy /tʃúːi/ を取り上げます。動詞ではchewですが、それにyがついて形容詞の形になっています。かみごたえがあるという意味になりそうです。『ライトハウス英和辞典』（第5版 研究社）で確認すると「（食べ物が）かみごたえのある」とありました。
LDOCEには “food that is chewy has to be chewed a lot before it is soft enough to swallow” と定義されています。
上記の英和辞典のchewの項目には「かむ」にもいろいろあり、ひと口かむのはbite、よくかんで細かくするのはchew、音をたててかみ砕くのはcrunchとまとめられています。日本の白いパンの場合、chewyを用いると、もちもちとした食感を表すことができるのではないかと思いました。（aqua）

さらに “on deck” で野球において現打者が打席に立っている間、その次の打者が素振りなどを気持ちを整えたり準備をする場所を指す「ネクストバッターサークル」を表すことがわかりました。よって “be up on deck” で「ネクストバッターサークルにいる」と直訳され、「準備中、待機中にある」と意訳され使われるそうです。

気になった単語は“chopper”です。意味は大体予想がつきますが、『ジーニアス英和辞典』（大修館、第五版）を参照すると、やはり「ヘリコプター」とありました。また、「肉切り包丁」「（ハンドルを高くした改造）バイク」「義歯」の意味もあるそうです。では、“helicopter”との違いは何であるのでしょうか。
ヘリコプターが飛んでいる時、プロペラの回転音が“chop-chop-chop”と聞こえることから、またプロペラが何かを切る（chopする）ようなものに見えるからその名前がついたとされています。こちらは俗称のようです。
