Akihabara marks 10th year of street attack that killed 7
Flowers were laid and prayers were offered in Tokyo’s Akihabara district on June 8, the 10th anniversary of a street rampage that killed seven pedestrians and injured 10.
During a break from work, a 30-year-old man came to the area, put his hands together in prayer, and quietly said, “I am sorry.”

LDOCEには“to rush about in groups, acting in a wild or violent way”とありました。 続いてODEで語源をしらべてみると、“late 17th cent, : perhaps based on the verb RAMP and the noun PAGE”と定義されています。
(Otoyo)
