気になった単語は”ramification” /ræ̀məfikéiʃən/です。『ジーニアス英和辞典』（第五版、大修館）を参照すると、「（派生的に起こる）結果、成り行き」とありました。また、「枝分かれ、細分化、網状拡大、分岐」などの意味もあり、こちらが本義だそうです。この単語の動詞系は”ramify”であり、「枝状に分れる」という意味です。
