Tokyo Gov. Koike keen to join hands with Komeito in metropolitan assembly race
Tokyo Gov. Yuriko Koike has expressed enthusiasm about joining hands with the Komeito caucus in the Tokyo Metropolitan Assembly in the next assembly election in summer 2017, following a rift between Komeito and its coalition partner Liberal Democratic Party (LDP).
"It'd be unconstructive for allies to work against each other. I'd like to increase the number of my allies so we can coordinate closely with each other," Koike told reporters on Dec. 15.
