昨日の7月1日はカナダの建国記念日でした。カナダ全体がお祝いムードのようです。

今回の記事で、“birthday bash”となっていますが、“bash”は『ジーニアス英和辞典(大修館書店)によると、「強打、へこみ」という意味もありましたが、「にぎやかなパーティー」という意味がありました。
私もカナダにいた時、カナダのロゴが入った服を着て、友達とダウンタウンへ行き、人混みの中街を歩き、お祝いをしたことを思い出しました。自国を愛するカナダの人々を見て、カナダ人ではなくても、カナダで過ごせていることに感謝をしましたし、日本人として、日本を愛せるようにならなくてはと思いました。(lua)
