イエメンで自爆テロが発生しました。兵士が給料を受け取るために列になっていたところを襲ったようです。このテロにより少なくても23名が亡くなり，多数の重軽傷者が出ました。外務省ホームページの海外安全情報によると，「イエメンでは，北部のサアダ県を拠点とするホーシー派の武装勢力が南下し，2014年9月に首都サヌアを制圧しました。ホーシー派武装勢力が，サヌアから逃れていたハーディ大統領を追って同国南部のアデンへ迫った2015年3月下旬，ハーディ大統領からの支援要請を受けて，サウジアラビア主導の連合軍は軍事介入に踏み切り激しい戦闘が継続しています。」とあります。
記事の中で気になった単語は"supplant"です。『Wisdom英和辞典第三版』（三省堂）を調べると「〘かたく〙 <優勢な物･人が> <古い物･人>に取って代わる」という意味がありました。Oxford Dictionaries.comには"Supersede and replace"と定義されております。紛争に乗じて，イスラム過激派の勢力が拡大しているという情報もあり，テロ行為が激しくなっているようです。(Ume)

Aden is controlled by various factions loyal to the internationally recognized government of President Abdrabbuh Mansour Hadi. They are battling the Shia Houthi rebels and their allies, who seized Yemen's capital Sanaa in 2014 and later much of north-western Yemen.
IS and al-Qaeda have taken advantage of the conflict to bolster their presence in the south of the country and IS has in recent years attempted to supplant al-Qaeda as the dominant jihadist group there.
