今回気になった表現は、“off-the-grid”です。The Free Dictionary by FARLEXによると、“Without being connected to utility systems, such as those providing electricity and piped water”とありました。さらに『ジーニアス英和辞典G4 大修館書店』で“grid”を確認してみたところ、「（高圧線）配電網」という意味が見つかりました。そのため、今回の記事では「電気や水道などに頼らない生活」ということから「自給自足の生活」と訳せるでしょうか。(nine tails)
