draw on

英英辞書にもto use information, experience, knowledge etc for a particular purpose(LDOCE)とあり,今回のように教育目的で利用する場合には非常に据わりのいい表現だということがわかります。(Koyamamoto)

English teachers draw on Malala’s words
Inspired by her campaign for “education for every child,” teachers around Japan have used the words and activities of 17-year-old Pakistani schoolgirl Malala Yousafzai to teach English. Now they are celebrating her winning of the Nobel Peace Prize.
Junji Yoshiura, 63, is a lecturer at Osaka Prefectural Katano High School. He conducted English classes in autumn last year using Malala’s speech before the United Nations.
“I want to convey Ms. Malala’s approach to life to my students,” Yoshiura said. Over six class hours, Yoshiura used the U.N. speech for third-year students studying English as an elective.
He showed them video clips subtitled in Japanese and English of Malala’s speech, in which she said, “One child, one teacher, one pen and one book can change the world.”
