My impression of the Spring Seminar

I am going to talk about an English Intensive Training Camp at a Fuji-Yamanakako seminar house from March 25 through March 27.
One of the important things I learned is that I need to put myself in a situation in which I must use English. Most of us have little opportunity for using English in our daily lives. There is a limit to improving our English skills. Therefore, we have to create an environment in which we should use English. This is what is called “pushed output”.
　This time, the members of UG’s seminar tried to speak English positively. I myself felt that I had to use a variety of vocabulary in order to express what I really wanted to get across. Of course “input" is essential, but mere continuation of input does not automatically leads us to be good English speakers. What is the use of input without output!
This is exactly what I learned from the Camp. So, I will continue a “pushed output” from now on.
　In addition to this realization, I had a precious and wonderful time at the lake resort.　On Day 1, Mr. Koyamamoto taught us the importance of keeping up studying without giving up, and encouraged us all to change our mindsets. That was indeed an inspiration to us all. I also had a plenty of time with my peers and was able to talk more deeply in English than I used to. Dr. Tanabe encouraged us to make a learning peer for the mastery of foreign language, you need one. I am happy to have the chance this time.
Dr. UG and Mr. Koyamamoto, I appreciate your giving us that golden opportunity and thoughtful idea.
