ゼミ生Shoheiです。内部告発サイトWikiLeaksが各国の機密情報(classified information)を暴露している事件が紙面を騒がしています。The Japan Times ONLINEもこの事件を扱っています。今回はOfficials fear WikiLeaks' potential to harm U.S. tiesという記事から英語表現を拾います。

the recent trove of unauthorized dataのtroveとは一体どのような意味でしょうか。辞書を引いてみると，
・（一般に）貴重な発見物
『スーパーアンカー英和辞典』（４版，学研教育出版）
・A group of valuable or interesting things or pieces of information, or the place where they are (LDOCE)
とあります。ここから，WikiLeaksの暴露した機密情報，本来ならば公に出回るはずのない情報を「発見」と捉えていることが分かります。
内部告発者がWikiLeaksに機密情報を送り，その情報が暴露されていますが，日本の機密情報が暴露される恐れがあるのも事実です。またWikiLeaksの創設者の一人，ジュリアン・アサンジ(Julian Assnge)は女性暴行容疑で今年8月インタポール(Interpol)から逮捕状が出され，今月には国際逮捕手配書が発行されました。
就職難や，北朝鮮の韓国への砲撃，今回の機密情報暴露など，日本全体が抱え込む不安や問題は深刻化していきそうです。（ゼミ生 Shohei）
