perennially 復習

気になったのはperennially /pəréniəli/ です。
per-というと、「ずっと」というイメージがあります。詳しい意味等を以下で確認していきます。
『ジーニアス英和辞典』(第五版、大修館書店)では「絶え間なく、永続的に、年中、長年にわたって」とあります。また、LDOCEでは “perennial” の形で “continuing or existing for a long time, or happening again and again” “a plant that is perennial lives for more than two years” “a plant that lives for more than two years” と説明されています。goo辞書をみてみると、ラテン語のperenni(s)が由来となっている事が分かります。
現在では各自治体が、外国人向けに防災マニュアルビデオを作成するといった活動を行なっています。それと同時に、地震大国と言われる日本の一国民として有事の際に率先して行動できるだけの防災知識、そして常日頃から災害に向けての意識を持つ事が大切だと感じました。(seventh-dan)
