yobは英国の俗語で「不良少年、チンピラ、与太者（今の大学生には新語かな）」という意味で、要するにhoolinganと近い言葉です。その由来ですが、なんとboyを反対にしたものです。どこやらの国の芸人が「ヒーコー」「ワイハ」などというのと同じです。（UG）

A group of 100 chanting yobs went on a rampage at a McDonalds restaurant abusing terrified staff and stealing food.

Some of the huge mob also jumped over the counter at the fast food outlet in Wigan town centre while others hurled rubbish and food.

The incident happened in Standishgate at 10.30pm last Tuesday and has come to light after mobile phone footage of the incident was uploaded to YouTube.

The footage shows the abused staff bravely trying to deal with the foul-mouthed mob before pressing the in-store alarm system to alert the central CCTV control room.

Police will now review the footage, which has been watched over 60,000 times on YouTube, and the store's CCTV as part of their investigation.
