今回取り上げる表現は"ramp out"という熟語です。ramp 単体では坂のスロープ，高速道路のランプ，飛行機用のタラップなどという意味がありますがこの熟語はどのように用いられているのでしょうか。
『ジーニアス英和辞典』（第５版）には「〜を増やす、株価などを高く見せかける」と記されており、Wordreference.com には"to increase or cause to increase"と定義されていました。
辞書を参考にして直訳すると「中国の脅威論を増やす」となりますが意味がよくわかりません。意訳すると「中国への脅威論を強める」という風になると思いました。(Mt.Fuji)
