lay bare

学部時代からpost-colonial理論などに興味があるので、こういったニュースには敏感になります。The Independentから英語表現を拾います。

記事の冒頭に注目です。「（秘密）を明らかにする、暴露する」という表現は過去にも扱われていますが、ここではlay bareという表現が使われています(『リーダーズ英和辞典』)。つまり、「情報が丸裸になる」という意味です。簡単な言葉の組み合わせで（論文などでは使えないかもしれませんが）、(私がパッと思いつくのがdisclose, reveal, elucidateくらいですし)使いやすいと思いますので、覚えたいと思います。
