　bombard /bɑmbάɚd/ を取り上げます。bombが含まれていることから、何かが爆発するようなイメージがわきます。『ライトハウス英和辞典』（第5版　研究社）で調べると「（…）を砲撃（爆撃）する；（人）を（質問などで）攻め立てる（with）」とありました。

　LDOCEには “to attack a place for a long time using large weapons, bombs etc” や “to do something too often or too much, for example criticizing or questioning someone, or giving too much information” と定義されています。

　記事の内容に戻ると、瞬く間にツイッターが非難の言葉で荒れる様子が伝わってきます。他の日本語でいうと、炎上するという言葉があてはまるのではないかと思いました。（aqua）
