overseerを取り上げます。文脈から役割か役職を指していると推測しました。『ジーニアス英和辞典』を引くと「監督［監視］者」とあります。ただこちらは古い表現で、同義語にsuperintendentがあげられていました。

LDOCEには“someone who is in charge of a project, group of workers etc, and who makes sure that the job is done properly”と定義されています。つぎにCambridge Dictionaryで確認したところ“a person whose job it is to make certain that employees are working or that an activity is being done correctly”とありました。(Kiwi girl)
