今回はusher inを紹介します。usherというアメリカ人歌手は思い付きましたが、肝心な動詞としての働きがわかりません。
『ジーニアス英和辞典』第４版（大修館）では「（客など）を中へ案内する」とありました。
Cambridge Dictionaryには “to show someone where they should go, or to make someone go where you want them to go” と定義されています。

語源を調べると、ラテン語でdoorkeeperを表すustiariusからきていることがわりました。
