今回はimbue /ɪmbjúː/ を紹介します。文脈から「印象づける」と推測しました。『ジーニアス英和辞典』第４版（大修館）は「＜人・物＞に[思想・感情・価値などを]吹き込む, […に]染まる[with]」とありました。またimbue A with Bで「…を[…で]染める」となります。
LDOCEには “to make someone or something have a quality, idea, or education very strongly” と定義されています。
続いて語源を調べてみると、ラテン語のimbuere「湿らす, ぬらす」から由来していることがわかりました。
