To beat the heat at the 2020 Games, Tokyo is turning to the wisdom of the traditional Japanese custom of using “uchimizu” sprinkled water to cool down baking outdoor areas.
中略
With the Olympic event being considered for a 6 a.m. kick-off, metropolitan government staff doused the sidewalk with water spouting from holes spaced every five centimeters of an approximately 80 meter-hose laid down on the sidewalk from where spectators are expected to cheer on athletes.

またLDOCEにはif liquid or fire spouts from somewhere, it comes out very quickly in a powerful streamやto talk a lot about something in a boring or annoying wayやa small pipe on the side of a container that you pour liquid out throughなどと定義されていました。
(rain)
