前回の内容に引き続き、仏大統領と米大統領の会談の記事より気になる単語を見つけました。

本日取り上げる単語は、agogです。推測は一切たてられませんでした。そのため、『ジーニアス英和辞典』(第五版、大修館書店)を引いてみますと「[叙述](〜で/〜に関して)ワクワクして、熱狂して（exited）〔with/at, over〕：〔〜したくて〕うずうずして〔to do〕」と記されておりました。ここで後半部を再読してみますと、「私たちはトランプ大統領は恋わずらいの女子のようにマクロン氏にあれやこれをしゃべり立てたり、・・・というのをワクワクしながら見てきた」というような日本語が当てはまると思われます。ちなみにここでの”we”とはTime紙の特徴である中道的かつ保守派的な性格から考えますと（https://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/デイリー・テレグラフ）、編集部側の視点だと思われます。(WREN)
