Japan's atomic-bombed city of Nagasaki has recognized British author Kazuo Ishiguro as an honorary resident for winning the Nobel Prize in Literature last year.
On Thursday the city's assembly unanimously passed a bill to honor the Nagasaki-born novelist.
Mayor Tomihisa Taue said Ishiguro is the first person from the city to become a Nobel laureate in literature.
He added that Ishiguro's special feelings for Nagasaki and his strong wishes for peace have served as a basis for his creations and given a sense of familiarity to and deep impressions on Nagasaki residents.

Weblio
またLDOCEでは “a unanimous decision, vote, agreement etc is one in which all the people involved agree” “agreeing completely about something” と載っていました。
