今回取り上げるのは、feeble-mindedです。mindがあるので心の状態を意味する表現と予測しました。
『ジーニアス英日辞典』第４版（大修館）によると、「決断力を欠く、優柔不断な、（やや古）精神薄弱の、知能の低い」とありました。また、feeble / fíːbl / は「（体力が）弱い」とありました。
また、weak/ wíːk / の比較もあり「weakより強意的；人に用いるときは、あわれみ、軽蔑の意味を含む」と載ってました。(amphibian)
