moonlit / múnlɪ̀t / を取り上げます。『ジーニアス英和辞典』によると「月に照らされた」と記載されています。LDOCEでは“lit by the moon ”と定義されています。確認のためlitの定義を見てみると“a past tense and past participle of light”とありました。ロマンチックな響きですが、この文脈では闇にまみれてという感じで、人目を忍んでいる様子が伝わります。
補足ですが、少し前のアメリカのスラングでIt’s lit!はfunやcoolと同じように「イケてる」の意味で使用されていたようです。またLit.はliteratureを指します。(Kiwi girl)
