　北里大学病院では医師の違法な残業や労働時間の把握を怠っていたとして、労働基準法に違反していたことがわかりました。

Hospital where doctors put in long hours, but no record kept

A famous university hospital outside Tokyo is under fire for forcing its doctors to do illegal overtime work by not stipulating their working hours in employment regulations.

Kitasato University Hospital in Sagamihara, Kanagawa Prefecture, also neglected to record how many hours its doctors put in each day.

The Sagamihara Labor Standards Inspection Office admonished the hospital Dec. 27 and ordered it to stop violating the Labor Standards Law, sources said.

As for reasons the hospital has continued to allow slipshod management of doctors’ working hours, Teruo Hiramoto, head of the personnel affairs section of the hospital, said, “We cannot answer now as we are consulting with lawyers.”
