　元は古英語のcrafianで “demand, claim as a right”という意味だったようです。さらに元をたどると、デンマーク語に行きつきます。
　「懇願する」は、wishやdesire、long forなどでも表せますが、craveはそれらよりももっと強い意味合いがあります。(Gomez)
