Star Flyer takes robotic route for in-flight safety instruction film

Japanese airline Star Flyer Inc. is putting an animated twist on the sometimes tedious but necessary ritual of in-flight safety instructions with its own futuristic robot character, Star Flyer Man.

The carrier announced on Dec. 11 that it will start showing an in-flight video that gives safety instructions for passengers in anime style from Dec. 17.

In the video, Star Flyer Man demonstrates key safety features such as how to store baggage in the aircraft as well as reminding passengers of prohibited items in the company’s fourth in-flight safety video, its first new one in nearly three years.

Striking various poses, the “guardian deity of the sky," clad in black in keeping with the airlines' distinctive planes, conveys safety information in a calm and commanding manner in the fun video.

　この新しい映像には「スターフライヤーマン」という新キャラクターが登場し、スターフライヤーが使用しているエアバスA320型航空機をモチーフにしているそうです。（aqua）
