　inhalation /ìn(h)əléɪʃən/ を取り上げます。接頭辞のin-がついてるのでsmoke 「煙」が体内に入っていくのを想像しました。また文脈から「煙を吸ったことで外に出ることなく倒れてしまった」となりそうです。
　『ジーニアス英和辞典』を引くと「吸入; 吸入剤［薬］」とありました。次にCambridge Dictionary を確認すると動詞のinhaleが“to breath air, smoke, or gas into your lungs”と定義されていました。
