ハリウッドスターのケビン・スパイシー氏が過去に未成年の女優と性的な関係を持っていたことを認め謝罪しました。
Hollywood star Kevin Spacey has made an apology after being accused of making a sexual advance toward a child actor.
Anthony Rapp, who was 14, said Spacey invited him to a party and seemed drunk when the alleged incident happened.
Spacey, who was 26, said: "I honestlydo not remember the encounter... but if I did behave then as he describesowe him the sincerest apology."

“squirm” /skwˈɚːm/ を取り上げます。『ジーニアス英和辞典第5版』(大修館) によれば「ねじる、もがく、(不快や苦痛から)身悶えする」とあります。ロングマン英英辞典をみると “to twist your body from side to side because you are uncomfortable or nervous, or to get free from something which is holding you.” と定義されていて、不快感やストレスを全身に伴いながら動く様を表していることがいえます。
“squirm” はもともと 「イカ」の意味がある“squid” と「ミミズ、虫」のニュアンスがある “worm” が組合わさったものであることがわかりました。どちらも「体をねじったりよじったりして動く」というニュアンスがあるといえます。したがって “squirm” のもともとの意義は「よじる、ねじる」であり、そこから派生して窮屈そうに無理をして動く様を指す語としても使われるようになり、「身悶えする、もがく」と意味になったとわかりました。
スパイシー氏は芸能関係者が多く集まるパーティーがあった際に最終的に彼女とふたりになったために性的関係を持つに至ったと釈明したそうです。(Hapidra)
