in consort (with)を取り上げます。consortのみで「配偶者」などの意味をもちますが、ここではどのような使われ方をしているのでしょうか。『ジーニアス英和辞典』（第五版，大修館）を引いたところ、「一緒に，協力して」と載っておりました。またインターネット版LDOCEによると、consort withで"doing something together with someone"と定義されております。
ちなみにconsortの語源はラテン語のconsorsで 、“sharing, partner”という意味だそうです。conが “together with”、sortが “lot, destiny”を表しているとのことです。（Oxford Dictionary of English (2th) より）(Gomez)
