They say every dog has his day, and this year it’s Snoopy’s turn to star in Japan Post Co.’s popular “nengajo” (New Year’s greeting cards), the company announced Aug. 31.

The canine character, created by Charles M. Schulz, a perennial favorite with “big kids,” appears on the top-left postage stamp corner of the card, as well as at the center of the bottom bar where lottery numbers are printed.
