matrimonial /m`ætrəmóʊniəl/ を取り上げます。前にmatchmakingという言葉があり、andで同じような意味を並列しているのだろうと思い、「縁結びの」という意味になるのではないかと思いました。『ライトハウス英和辞典』（第5版 研究社）で調べると「（格式）結婚の、結婚に関する、夫婦間の」という意味が見つかりました。これの名詞形がmatrimonyで「結婚、婚姻、夫婦関係、結婚生活」を表します。LDOCEにはmatrimonyで “the state of being married” と定義されています。
