大阪府港区にある海遊館では、ラッコのパタが21歳を迎え、国内最高齢となりました。人間の年齢で考えると80歳を超えているとのことです。
Ice cake, but no candles, as Pata the sea otter hits grand age of 21
The nation's oldest sea otter born in captivity, a female named Pata, turned 21 years old June 28, equivalent to over 80 in human terms, at the Osaka Aquarium Kaiyukan here.
Staff celebrated the occasion by giving Pata an ice cake. She is usually very picky about what she eats, but seemed fond of the hand-made present to mark her birthday.
Aquarium keeper Nami Tomisawa says: “Usually, Pata does not want hand-made ice cakes, and sometimes shows no interest in them. However, she was delighted to receive one today, which made us keepers very happy.”
Another keeper leaned over to Pata and told her, "Please eat anything we give you, do not become picky.”

picky /píki/ を取り上げます。動詞のpickにyがついて形容詞の形になっています。『ライトハウス英和辞典』（第5版 研究社）で調べてみると「（略式）（主に米）（軽蔑的）好みがうるさい（about）」という意味が見つかりました。例として “a picky eater” で「（食べ物の）好き嫌いの多い人」が挙げられています。
LDOCEには “someone who is picky only likes particular things and not others, and so is not easy to please” と定義されています。
記事の内容に戻りますと、 “do not become picky” は「好き嫌いをしてはいけない」という意味になるかと思われます。（aqua）
