　フランスのマクロン大統領とプーチン大統領が会談を行いました。率直な意見のやり取りを行ったそうです。相容れない部分があるものの，シリアでのテロの脅威に対応して取り組んでいくなど協調すべき点なども見られたようです。
　記事の中で気になった表現は"tete-a-tete"です。『Wisdom英和辞典第三版』(三省堂)には「2人きりで, 2人きりの, 内密の」などという意味がありました。ロシアはフランス大統領選挙中，マクロン候補のライバルであったルペン氏に加担するためにサイバー攻撃を行ったという疑いをもたれておりました。マクロン大統領自身もロシアから攻撃を受けたと述べておりましたが，この点は2人の会談にどのような影響があったのでしょうか。(Ume)

France's Macron holds 'frank exchange' with Putin

The first Macron-Putin tete-a-tete took place in the royal splendour of Versailles
Mr Macron said he wanted France to "strengthen" its "partnership with Russia" in its fight against so-called Islamic State (IS) in Syria. He said he favoured "a democratic transition" that would "preserve the Syrian state".
But the use of chemical weapons would be a "red line" that would draw an "immediate response" from France, he added.
