S. Korea: Half brother of Kim Jong Un ‘assassinated’

SEOUL (Reuters) — South Korea said on Wednesday it believed the half brother of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un had been murdered, as Malaysian authorities moved the body to another hospital for an autopsy to identify the cause of death, sources told Reuters.

Malaysian police official Fadzil Ahmat said on Tuesday the cause of Kim’s death was not yet known, and that a post-mortem would be carried out. Kim had been planning to travel to Macau on Monday when he fell ill at KLIA’s low-cost terminal, Fadzil said.

　マレーシア当局は北朝鮮大使館から遺体を引き渡すよう求められていますが、遺体の解剖を優先する意向を示したという報道がなされており、解剖にあたる部分でpost-mortemという表現がありました。
『ジーニアス英和辞典』によると「検死(解剖)」という意味があり、語源は
ラテン語で「死後」とありました。autopsyも同義語として思い浮かべましたが、LDOCEによるとこちらはアメリカ英語でpost-mortemはイギリス英語であり、動詞はcarry out, do, conductなどと主に共起することもわかりました。(lua)
