The magic of Christmas is alive in Finland. Well-wishers have gathered in the country's north to see off Santa Claus on his journey to spread cheer.
The big man in the red and white costume left the Santa Clause Village on Friday night in Rovaniemi City in Lapland.
The village bustled with activity on its busiest day of the year. Before his departure Santa promised visitors to make this year's Christmas a wonderful day.
Village officials say Santa will travel around the world by Christmas morning.

“bustled with”を取り上げます。bustleはabout, aroundと伴って「せかせか動き回る」という意味がありますが、今回のようにwithと共起すると『ジーニアス英和辞典』で「(場所などが)活気などにあふれている」という意味になることがわかりました。
関連してhustle and bustleという語を見つけました。hustle-bustleとも表記するそうですが、「都会の喧騒、ざわざわとせわしない様子」を表します。
またbustleには名詞で別の意味があり、17世紀から何度か流行となっていた、スカートの後部を膨らませるために用いる腰当てのことで、ワイヤーなどで作られているものだとわかりました。現代でもウエディングドレスなどにしばしば使われているそうです。
「サンタクロースの村」と言われているフィンランドのロバニエミ市にあるこの村は、にぎやかで１年で最も忙しい時期を迎えたということがわかりました。ちなみにここへは，bookmark先輩が以前行かれたとのことです。(lua)
