New Legoland in Nagoya looks to April opening with staff of 600

With all the bricks falling into place, Legoland Japan, a theme park scheduled to be opened here in April 2017, has completed 80 percent of its facilities and will be employing more than 600 staff members, the park’s operator reported Nov. 25.

The first outdoor theme park to be built in Japan by the manufacturer of Lego, the toy building bricks of Danish origin, is expected to attract 2 million visitors during its first year of operation.

今回取り上げるのはlevel-headedです。『ライトハウス英和辞典』（第5版　研究社）で調べると、形容詞で「穏健な、冷静な、分別のある」という意味が見つかりました。LDOCEには “calm and sensible in making judgments or decisions” と定義されております。ちなみに反意語はhot-headedです。level とheadに分けて考えると、levelには「分別のある、落ち着いた」という意味があり、それに状態や性質を表す名詞を作るheadが接尾辞としてつくことで上記のような意味になると考えられます。
今回は “a level-headed appraisal” で「冷静な評価」となるかと思われます。
