‘Dual-staple’ eating tends to increase obesity
Eating two or more dishes consisting mainly of carbohydrates at one meal may lead to obesity, according to a recent survey in Osaka Prefecture.
It is not rare in the prefecture, for example, for people to eat okonomiyaki, a savory pancake containing such ingredients as meat and vegetables, and a bowl of rice at one meal. This type of meal is described as a “dual-staple” diet.
People also commonly eat ramen together with stir-fried rice, a meal common around the country.

English-Oxforddictionaries.com には “become fixed or established” と定義され, “The idea had taken root in my mind.”
(Cayu)
