Improve environment so elderly can contribute throughout their lives

To maintain the vitality of society amid the graying and declining population, it is important to improve the environment so that elderly people can make use of their abilities and experience, and fully take part in society.

The white paper on health, welfare and labor for 2016 has been released with a main theme of “Working out a social model for overcoming the aging population.” The report has come up with ways to strengthen employment measures so as to realize a “society in which people actively contribute throughout their whole lives,” allowing elderly people who are willing to work to continue doing so.
