Passenger jet makes emergency landing in Hokkaido
A passenger aircraft has made an emergency landing at New Chitose Airport in Japan's northern prefecture of Hokkaido due to smoke rising from a small smartphone charger of a passenger. Two cabin attendants were injured.
The airport's transport ministry office says Flight 732 operated by Skymark took off and returned to the airport, touching down at around 12:45 AM on Monday.
Officials say smoke was seen rising from a small smartphone charger in a bag placed below a passenger seat after the plane took off for Tokyo's Haneda Airport.
Officials say all 170 passengers on board were safe, but 2 cabin attendants suffered light burns.
They say the liquid content of the charger splattered onto the attendants when they tried to put down the smoke using a fire extinguisher and water.
Airport officials and police are investigating details of the incident, including what caused the smoke.

まず,LDOCEで確認してみると、"if liquid splatters somewhere, or if someone splatters it, it falls or is thrown onto a surface"との定義がありました。
(Akim)
