New hotel, complex opens on former Akasaka Prince site
Tokyo Garden Terrace Kioicho, a hotel and business complex built on the site of demolished Grand Prince Hotel Akasaka in Tokyo’s Chiyoda Ward, fully opened on Wednesday.
A ceremony to mark the grand opening of the complex of a luxury hotel, commercial facilities, condominiums and business offices was held the same day by Seibu Holdings Inc., which has the hotel’s operator under its wing.
The main building, which has 36 stories above the ground, houses restaurants and other commercial facilities on the first to fourth floors and offices on the fifth to 28th floors.
The 250-room hotel, Prince Gallery Tokyo Kioicho, occupies floors 30 to 36 of the building. It aims to attract wealthy foreign tourists by offering quality services and a superb view of Tokyo including the 634-meter-high Tokyo Skytree, the tallest self-sustaining tower in the world.
Room rates range from \70,000 to \700,000 per person per night, including tax and service charges.
The hotel operator expects foreign visitors to account for about 50 percent of all guests in the current fiscal year to March 2017.

今回取り上げるのはcomplexです。形容詞では「複雑な」という意味になりますが、今回は名詞で用いられております（/kάmpleks/）。『ライトハウス英和辞典』（第5版 研究社）で調べてみますと、名詞では「1総合センター、団地、共同ビル、（工業）コンビナート、複合体（物）」とありました。LDOCEには “a group of buildings, or a large building with many parts, used for a particular purpose” とありました。今回の場合ですと、複合施設という意味になるかと思われます。
